We Want YOUR Ideas
Seing as the wedding is likely to be with 5-6 months (about 160 days!) we are trying to get busily to work on ideas and plans for the day.
We really want the day to be fun for everyone and we want to be as creative as possible in how we do things.
We know there is plenty of creative juice flowing around out there and we want all your ideas for fun and quirky ways of doing the more traditional things within a wedding day, so heres your chance, we made a space at the bottom of this page (or click on ‘1 comment’ on the top right hand) where you can leave your name and email if you have one, and then your ideas in the big white box, feel free to leave more than one and use examples from other weddings you’ve been to, we want your ideas to stir up ours as well! Thanks for your help.
Who knows if your idea is good enough I may even mention you in the Grooms speech.
Disclaimer: This does not guarantee you will be mentioned, in fact you very well may not be mentioned for your idea, just don’t get your hopes up, thats all Im saying

Instead of one big cake, you could get lots of little ones with pretty icing. Then it would (maybe) be easier to hand them out.
As a Canadian who married an Aussie, we ended up having three- count them, THREE- weddings. If you want to email with any questions, we learned a lot. If not, no worries.
What advice I would give you is this: the wedding is an important celebration, but make sure that ultimately you are investing primarily in the marriage, not just the wedding. This applies financially, emotionally, etc.
Another tid bit: the wedding is only partly about the bride and groom. Not always fair, but easier to accept it now that parents and family are going to claim a great deal. Decide which hills your willing to die on, then be open handed with the rest.
Peace,
Jamie
Hey guys,
Congratulations!
Just stumbled on this site from Liam’s facebook.
As a married man, I have a little experience of a wedding, and so thought I would leave some chat.
First - we didn’t do this, but I had saw this site ages ago and loved it - have a VW camper as your wedding car (www.scoobycampers.com). You know it would be way cool!
Second - instead of making invites we sent out postcards we designed ourselves (almost like flyers). We avoided all the fidgety craft stuff, and just went for something simple and got our design done via an internet printer (saved us quite a bit, but it all comes down to what you like). We also used the same design to print business cards that we used as name place cards.
Lastly, more of a tip than an idea. We flew out on our honeymoon the morning after our big day at about 8/9pm and so didn’t really get the chance to relax in the hotel room. And we went for a few days to Budapest and took in the sites, which was cool. If I was doing it again (which wont ever happen) I would have made sure the morning after was more chilled, and also that the holiday was more relaxing. Sightseeing was cool, but a week of kicking back might have been better.
Much love and enjoy the planning.
God bless
Stephen
One cool idea: Have a little diamond inserted on the inner side of your rings. In addition to just being really cool, it’s kind of a symbol of your eternal love, which no one can see, but you know is there. Here’s what my ring looks like:
Don’t ask me to show you the next time we meet - I’ve grown fat since the wedding and can’t get it off!
